The late rapper Riky Rick’s conversation with Zimbabwean prophet Mellontik Orasi gave some insight into the circumstances behind his choice to commit himself.
In the early hours of February 23, 2022, Riky Rick—real name Rikhado Makhado—tragically took his own life in his studio. Over the years, the well-known artist behind Sidlukotini has openly discussed his battles with depression and substance abuse.
The news of Riky Rick’s passing shocked fans in South Africa and elsewhere since his online persona had always oozed happiness. When compared to his interviews and online engagements, his social media posts frequently included footage of him and his wife standing in front of mirrors.
The well-known Zimbabwean prophet Mellontik Orasi, who earlier foresaw the death of fellow rapper AKA, reportedly recalled his chat with Riky Rick before the musician’s tragic end.
The clergyman, now based in South Africa, not told that he forewarned Riky Rick of impending events but also revealed the underlying factors that led the rapper to make the fateful choice.
During an appearance on Star FM, Prophet Mellontik Orasi shared:
“I once talked to Riky Rick and told him to leave the Illuminati gang he was involved in, and he refused. Later on, he started looking for me because he was now desperate. He told me he was informed [by the Illuminati] that either his daughter or wife must die.
“After being given that scenario, that’s when he hanged himself, and he died. Riky Rick took his own life because the Illuminati wanted his daughter or wife. So he treasured his daughter and wife and committed suicide, leaving all his riches.”
